We have designed shops for the shoe brand in London, Kuwait, UAE and Japan. From small Victorian spaces in historic London, where careful treatment of the original fabric of the building had to be respected to department shops in large shopping malls in the Middle East, the interior design was developed to cater to the specifics and character of each location. Inspired by this process we created glassblowing moulds from rolled up paper, dipped in water. The molten glass is blown into wet moulds and adopts the shape and imprint of the paper. As heat burns off the paper edges it singes the inner side of the mould a dark, matt black. The screen cocoons the head of the bed providing a sense of solitude in a larger setting. The project was part of the renovation of the former Middlesex Guildhall on Parliament Square, London, led by Feilden+Mawson Architects. We designed the layout and the bespoke furnishings of the 3 courtrooms and the judge's personal workspaces. The ambition to create contemporary furniture that sits in harmony with the historic building and provide the highest possible work comfort lead the design process.
